The Association

The Morgan Horse Association of Australia Inc. (MHAA) was established in 1990 to promote the Morgan horse in this country. The Association runs a number of programs for its members and held its first breed show in 1994. The breed show became an annual event and changed its name to the Australian National Morgan Show in January 1997. It attracts a high percentage of the total Australian Morgan population, with members traveling long distances to attend.

MHAA has done much to promote the breed; presenting horses at breed and stallion parades, holding information stands at horse related events and having articles published in Australian horse magazines.

The Association has approximately 150 members; a Board of five; State Liaison Officers in Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia; maintains registers for pure and part bred Morgans and produces a bi-monthly newsletter, 'The Morgan Messenger'.
